ADO Day Takes A New Direction
ADO Intensive Workshops – Moving your development efforts forward in half-day sessions
We have all long enjoyed our ADO Luncheons, which offer and opportunity for networking, information sharing and learning. After a recent survey of ADO members, it was determined that members really wanted to have longer, more intensive sessions targeted on a variety of topics. To that end, ADO will now be hosting several half-day workshops, which will take the place of the larger, longer ADO Day.
The first ADO Intensive Workshop was held on October 12, 2011 at Sam’s of Gedney Way and was a wonderful success, according to ADO Co-President Paula Barbag. “This took two full weeks of planning and really met the interest of our members by creating a smaller, more substantive workshop,” Barbag said. The workshop, titled “Building Your Annual Fund Through Direct Mail and Social Media,” featured speaker Mark A. Jacobson, senior vice president of Newport Creative Communications, and was facilitated by ADO Board Members Jill Gold, Sharon Danosky, Grace Ferri, and Nancy Mathiasen. The morning session was attended by over 30 guests and more than 60 joined the mid-day session, networking, and lunch.
The next Intensive Workshop is being planned for March 2012.
